Alisa Kleybanova captures Korea Open trophy
 
The professional tennis player from Russia, Alisa Kleybanova has knocked down her Czech tennis foe, Klara Zakopalova to win the Korea Open tennis tournament in Seoul. The Russian won the title battle in a comfortable two setter
clash on Sunday. The final match score was 6-1 6-3.
Klara struggled versus the strong stroke play and powerful serving of her fifth seeded tennis opponent, Alisa, who raced to a lead of 5-0 in the opening set on Sunday. Alisa dominated right from the start of the match and didn’t
let her opponent to bounce back at any stage of the title battle in Seoul.
"I am incredibly happy with the way I performed in today’s match and i am glad that I won the title. Moreover, I also want to thank all the Russian fans who came here throughout this week and supported me right from the start of
the tournament. It is really appreciative and highly encouraging and boosted up my confidence to great levels,” said Alisa who received $US37,000 ($A39,031) of prize money on Sunday.
She further added, “every single match is equally important for me and the final is off course always a tough one and is always a special day. I want to thank Klara for a great clash and I am glad that I won the crown today here
in Seoul.”
In some other action, Alla Kudryavtseva has captured her first WTA Tour crown, defeating Elena Vesnina in a total of two sets in an all Russian title battle at the Tashkent Open tennis tournament. The final match score was 6-4,
6-4.
The seventh seeded Kudryavtseva, who knocked down finalist in Guangzhou, previous Sunday, broke her fourth seeded foe, Vesnina during the seventh game of the opening set.
After an exchange of breaks midway during the second set of the match, Alla broke once again in the seventh game and finished the clash, blasting an ace on the first of her two clash points.
It was Elena’s second loss in a final this year. She was defeated by another compatriot, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, earlier this season in Istanbul.
Contesting in her eleventh career final, Zakopalova improved to a lead of 3-1 in the second set, however missed the opportunity to level the clash.
Zakopalova after losing the match on Sunday said, "I would like to congratulate Kleybanova. She played extremely well and she had a great championship overall here in Seoul. Of course I wanted to be the winner today, but she was
very good and deserves the win.”
The victory is the second trophy for the world number 28 Kleybanova, following a win at Kuala Lumpur earlier this season.
