Alison Hoang secures Girls 200yard freestyle title – High School State Championships, San Francisco
Alison Hoang of WASH secured gold medal of the Girls 200yard freestyle at the 2012 High School State Championships in San Francisco, California on Tuesday, May 1.
Hoang remained comfortably ahead of her fellow swimmers throughout the four-lap event and occupied gold medal of the event.
With her impressive performance, she sprinted her way towards the finishing wall for gold medal by posting a time of 2 minutes and 03.94 seconds.
Hoang was traced by Emily Woo of LOW, who remained almost two strokes behind and tapped the wall for silver medal by posting a time of 2 minutes and 04.18 seconds.
Woo was trailed by her team-member, Elizabeth Wong, who remained nearly 2.50 seconds behind and hit the finishing end for bronze medal by clocking a time of 2 minutes and 06.67 seconds.
Elizabeth was chased by Nessie Gann, who remained nearly thirteen seconds away from overpowering the bronze medallist and touched the wall for fourth position with the timing of 2 minutes and 19.82 seconds.
Gann enjoyed a benefit of almost five seconds over her teammate, Jessica Weiss, who secured fifth position of the event by posting a time of 2 minutes and 24.69 seconds.
In the meantime, Nicholas Pasquinzo seized gold medal of the Boys 200yard freestyle by clocking a time of 1 minute and 52.74 seconds.
The gold medallist was chased by Joseph Satariano of WASH, who stayed nearly half body length apart and completes his race in a time of 1 minute and 55.07 seconds for silver medal.
The third position of the event was secured by Patrick Huynh of LOW, who stayed 1.03 seconds away from his former finisher and hit the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 56.10 seconds.
Huynh was trailed by Jeffrey Phan of WASH, who was 1.30 seconds away from the bronze medallist and clocked a time of 1 minute and 57.40 seconds for fourth position.
Similarly, Gordon Huang of GAL finished fifth in the event with the timing of 2 minutes and 01.10 seconds.
Furthermore, the championship ended after the completion of all listed events in Boys and Girls corner.
