Alison Van Uytvanck labours against Su-Wei Hsieh in the main draw at Brussels Ladies Open
Belgian wild card entrant, Alison Van Uytvanck rallied past Taipei Su-Wei Hsieh in a 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 mouth watering match on Monday. She earned a three setter victory against the 25-year-old Taipei to advance in the main draw of
the 2011 Open de Bruxelles, a WTA Premier event held in Brussels, Belgium.
Ranked 427th in the Sony Ericsson WTA Premier rankings, Uytvanck battles past the Taipei, ranked at 343, in two hours and nineteen minutes on their first meeting. After earning this success, she booked a main draw spot
at Royal Primerose Tennis Club.
The Belgian made a winning start in the opening set and superbly held her serve in the first game. She then exchanged two breaks two level the scores at 4-4 and broke the Taipei’s serve again in the last game to win the set with
a 6-4 score line. Despite clobbering four double faults and a poor first serve share of 52 percent as compared to Hsieh’s 71 percent, Uytvanck earned an impressive 68 percent win on it and converted three out of eight breakpoint opportunities to her advantage.

Hsieh re-focused her strategy in the second set capitalised on the Belgian’s errors. She faced zero breakpoint and kept her entire serves spectacularly. The Taipei converted two out of six breakpoint opportunities to her advantage
to seal the equaliser by winning six games to two.
The Belgian teenager got back on track in the decider and regardless of clobbering more unforced errors and a drastic first serve share, she registered an amazing 75 percent win on it. Uytvanck saved all three breakpoints conceded
through her amazing defensive skills and converted one out of four breakpoint opportunities to her advantage to clinch the set with a 6-4 win.
17-year-old is in great form this season as she reached the final at Tessenderlo ITF which is the only tournament she played this season. She kept her winning ways in this red clay court tournament and triumphed over Georgian Margalita
Chakhnashvili, eighth seeded German Laura Siegemund and Hsieh to advance in the main draw where she will be facing Swiss Patty Schnyder.
Another wild card enterer, Abigail Spears will be joining her in the main draw. The American Spears saved one out of two breakpoints conceded and converted six out of eight breakpoint opportunities to her advantage to earn double
breadsticks in under an hour. The 29-year-old American clobbered more double faults and produced a poor first serve share but she registered an exceptional 69 percent win on it to down the teenager, Argentinean Paula Ormaechea.
