Alize Cornet?

its unbelievable how much this young girl has taken the tour by storm this clay season. i am very impressed with her talent and her tenacity--beating a tough sveta emphatically then coming back after being down in the second set to chakvatadze 0-3 to win today. does anybody think she might create a few surprises at RG? i don't think she will win but the way she's been playing and the way she's been able to fight,i think she might end up going deep.

Yes the word out on her is that she is a player. She would have beat Serena today which is why Serena pulled out with the fake back injury then says that she should be fine for the French. So her back couldn't have been that bad then or was she just trying to avoid embarrassment by getting beat by an 18 year old qualifier. Well Alize Cornet is the real deal and will do well at the French. She won the Jr. Title last year and I can see her going as far as the Semi's this time in the big girls draw. There really isn't much talent. Maria Sharapova will win, Venus will make it to the Final. Beyond that it is wide open.

Yes, she has been a great competitor on clay. Although she seems to have the typical nerve problem being so young playing at WTA, she got so much potential. I will not be surprised if she makes more upsets in the tour and climbs up the rankings.

She's been impressive.  She won the French Open junior title last year, so she's got a solid clay court pedigree.  I think she could make the 4th round or even the QF, depending on her draw.  Who knows, maybe she'll thrive at her home slam.

I saw this girl played Jankovic in US Open. It was thriiling match, Jankovic almost lost. I think we will hear more from her in the future.
