Aljamaaheer likely to thrive in RSA Thoroughbred Stakes (Group 3)
The Roger Varian trained chestnut colt, Aljamaaheer, looks to be in the most favourable position to claim the ace title of the RSA Thoroughbred Stakes (Group 3) here at Goodwood racecourse on Friday, August 3. The Class 1 contest over 1 mile will commence
at 2:35 (GMT).
A good track is ready for the three-year-old novice colt to show his guts. Interestingly, he has faced the similar race conditions in both first and last starts of his 4-race career that began in October 2011.
After breaking his maiden in the very maiden outing at Yarmouth, the brilliant son of Dubawi out of Kelly Nicole finished 4th against 9 rivals in the Dubai Duty Free Full Of Surprises Handicap at Newbury on April 20, 2012.
The Hamdan Al Maktoum owned confident colt grabbed a grand victory in the Poptelecom.Co.Uk King Charles II Stakes (Listed Race), held at Newmarket on May 19.
During the gorgeous Royal Ascot event of June, Aljamaaheer elegantly finished third in the Jersey Stakes (Group 3). He was the 4-1 favourite for that race.
At the moment, the Corrin Stud & Sean O’Keefe bred colt is carrying immense winning momentum that will prove to be instrumental for him in today’s marathon. Thus, he has up to 90 percent chances to finish first.
Among Aljamaaheer’s rivals, Stipulate is a big name. The star trainer Sir Henry Cecil’s bay colt started his career with a tremendous triumph on August 7, 2011. His second and last victory came on April 18, 2012. That was the Blue Square Feilden Stakes (Listed
Race), held at Newmarket.
After finishing 4th in another race of the same month, the K. Abdulla owned colt marvellously grabbed a runner-up position in each of his last two starts including Betfair Heron Stakes (Listed Race) and Tercentenary Stakes (Group 3) ----the second
one was a part of the fabulous Royal Ascot event.
Thus, Stipulate will fight hard against Aljamaaheer in the coming contest. However, he is not likely to outplay the hot favourite candidate. A large number of the race lovers will get to the venue to enjoy the exciting race. Good luck to all the contestants.
