The 31-year-old, who started his professional career in the summer of 1999 at Stadion Galgenwaard, made close to 200 Eredivisie appearances for the Utreg before joining the South African side.
After spending more than a decade at Stadion Galgenwaard, the veteran stopper decided to continue his career elsewhere, and saw the Brazilians as the perfect club to join.
The clubs playing in the highest echelons of South African football are qualitatively way behind than the clubs participating in Dutch Eredivisie. However, Schut has insisted that Mamelodi Sundowns is a quality side while also admitting Orlando Pirates as
another impressive club playing in ABSA Premiership.
“I have seen lot of quality in the team and can’t wait for the start of the new season. I don’t know the level of other teams, but I have seen Pirates playing and they are quality side. I also hear http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kaizer-Chiefs-c39659 are a good team”, the 31-year-old was quoted
as saying to Kickoff.com.
Sundowns are currently in Swaziland, where they are holding their pre-season trainings. Schut has failed to take part in the training sessions for the past few days due to an injury. However, the Dutch stopper has expressed confidence that he will return
to full fitness in the next couple of days.
“I had a small problem with my thigh. I missed the last four days of training due to the injury, but I should be back in action in the next two days. Despite the injury, things have been good in terms of the pre-season training in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Swaziland-c3014. We have a nice
group of players and a great spirit in the camp”, Schut concluded.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mamelodi-Sundowns-c39851 finished fourth on the ABSA Premiership table in the 2012/13 season. However, the future looks extremely bright for the Brazilians after their successful acquisitions of some quality players to Loftus Stadium this summer including Schut.
