I'm bored and sorta sick of US and UK questions. So what is your favourite race horse that you have seen in your time and why.

Mines Lonhro mainly cause he was black and started my love of horse racing after my dad took me down to Brissie to see him in an exhibition gallop after he retired, which was amasing because every single person at Eagle Farm that day was screaming for him and crying as he galloped down the straight, also that Australian cup win was amasing along with many others. Most amasing day of my life.

DEATH, TAXES AND LONHRO!!!

  1. Hi Jess with you being a sweet 16 you may have been too young to have seen Sunline she was awesome and she was one of my favourite horses she won a lot of races including Cox Plate and she did it the hard way running fast times out in front other favourite horses of mine are Rain Gauge, On A Jeune, Super Snooper, Rough Habit, The Phantom, Schillaci, Brawny Spirit, Soho Square, Circles of Gold, Grey Song and Octagonal.

Good to see a young person interested in Horse Racing.

    Catch ya.

  2. were do i start!

i have seen so many great horses.

il start with the now late Super impose... he was a dead set champion probably goes close to being my all time favorite, he was the best miler in australasia for a long time, and he probably proved to many that you don't need a dour stayer to win the melbourne cup with his close up second in 89 if i remember correctly.

sunline... definitely the best mare of my life time, she was an out an out freak!

desert war.... he was definitely the most courageous horse iv seen always taking up the speed and fending of challengers (that were great horses in their own right) when he put the sword to haradasun in the queen elizabeth stakes at randwick a couple of years ago i was in absolute orr of him!

takeover target...... wow he got one big engine! to me he's the modern day phar-lap, carrying the weight of a nation all over the world, and what a performance in england recently to run 4th with a suspencory tear that was a huge effort, He's a dead set legend! i should have news this week owhetherer he will continue racing, all signs are good at the mo... with him hopefully being aimed at the age classic first up on stakes day then possibly to perth for the railway then singapore again and who knows maybe another tilt at england.

i could go on for-ever, some other of my faves are:

    octagonal

    lonhro

    shogun lodge

    aqua'da' more

    divine madonna

    bone-crusherer

    our waverly star

the one horse that i would have loved to have seen race is tulloch!

  3. I have to agree with you on the subject of Aussie content here. I would love to see some pertinent Q&A especially with the Spring Carnival upon us.

I also admire Lonhro and his progeny Octagonal, Zabeel and Sir Tristram, all true champions.

My favorite all time Jockey is Darren Beadman and he rode Lonhro 25 out his last 26 starts. I definitely made some money from that combination.

Even though Lonhro is amongst the best I've seen I can't narrow it down to one horse.

I follow a lot of Encosta de lago breed horses and other horses I have admired over the years include Kingston Town, Might and power, Sunline, Northerly and Makybe Diva just to name a few.

    Happy Punting
