Question:

All Black sour grapes?

Unbelievable the amount of sore losers posting since the All Blacks lost in what was the best game of rugby I've seen for a long time. Decisions go marginally either way in every game - in a fast paced attack there are bound to be very small descrepancies sometimes. It's the same when attacking teams are pushing through the phases towards the try line. When a ref sees a hand on the ball and doesn't know who's it is, it usually goes to the attacking team's benefit. Things like this happen all the time and it must be accepted. Some All Black fans will even be blaming their loss on them wearing their second strip and not their usual Black outfit!

I'm Welsh, and was unconvinced about the final Fiji try that took us out of the competition, but that's the way it goes.

Don't you think it's about time you congratulated the French on a fantastic win, and it's got to be said that it is for the good of the competition to be opened up now. The tournament is anyone's again. Good.

  1. No the best game of rugby came with Tonga v England, now that was one if not the best in the RWC tournament.

Life goes on and the sour grapes will be a bittersweet memory for the ABs until the next RWC.

  2. France won against probably the best team of this RWC, we have a lot of respect for the AB who deserve to be world champions looking at their performances and past results.

In one match, everything is possible and we did it!

It is so great for us, we are so happy! with some thoughts for this great AB team with nice supporters, Allez les Blacks mais surtout Bravo et allez les bleus !!!

  3. Good One France, was there watching at the stadium, sorry but the all blacks are sour loser, saw it first hand in 1999 and last night.

    Allez Les blues

agree was surprised they did not wear the all black shirts took the edge off them

  4. Sad!!! (All Blacks) New Zealand lost. And I lost NZ$6 grant for this game :-(  Well atleast NZ tried all their best... Congratzzz  French.

  5. I'm French and I really like the way the AB play, so fast, so good with their game as if they were born "rugby"! Even if they lost, I respect them a lot and I still think they're the best team in the world. I wouldn't have been that sad if they had won, their game is so spectacular. I was also surprised  to see that the AB's possession was 70%! it proves that France managed to defend well, which started with the way they faced the AB's haka. That was a match!

Hurrah to theAB! hurrah to France!  :-)

  6. can't believe that aussies lost too so who will it be I'm backing England

  7. yeah, really, this 'we was robbed' crep is so girlish.  I can't believe rugby players would do it.

  8. Yes, you're quite right! We Kiwis should take this loss on the chin, give credit to the French for playing a great game and show the world that we are not only a fantastic rugby playing nation, but also good sports.

Well done France! See you in Aotearoa 2011!

  9. or maybe because the ref was bias.the french had a forward pass which the ref totally ignored and resulted in the french getting a try. They won in the end but only by a bias ref. not because they actually earnt the win.

  10. what was the penalty count

  11. Not all of us Kiwis are sour grapes, its just people have different ways of expressing their anguish and disbelief that our team lost.  We have not even had a full day to let it all really sink in that we lost.  As a Kiwi I have accepted that we have lost by the better team on the day which was France.  They were so awesome and they took the All Blacks by surprise in the 2nd half.  They played outstanding Rugby and had a strong defence, which denied our team of scoring a try to get us back in the lead.

And as for the Grey strip the All Blacks wore, it did not really bother me.

This World Cup has been very entertaining so far, congrats to the Host nation on their win and good luck to them =)

Honorable Mention: I also wish further success in this tournament to our biggest rivals the Springboks..because they are so d**n gorgeous =)

  12. France were brilliant. NZ had no plan B. They deserved to lose.

  13. We Kiwis seem to all be wallowing in self pity right now but how many of us would shake a Frenchmans hand in the street and tell him to be proud  his nation rolled the best Rugby team on the planet?

I would... now wheres young Pierre? WHAT!! still at the PUB!!

Hes been there for like 15 hours!!!

    Sacre bleu!

Oh well voulez vous couchez avec trois ce soir or however it goes!!

  14. As far as I am concerned we were beaten so lets build a bridge and get over it

The next world cup is only 4 years away and we are never going to go away

One thing We Kiwis know is one battle dont win the war

    We Will Be Back!!!

    Chesseeanting surrende

Thank you for your comments. To respect a opposition, even tho you won is the mark of a good person.

I reckon you would make a good KIWI

  15. can you imagine playing a game like rugby all your life and competing in world cups etc knowing that you may never get to win it because  half a dozen or  more are unbeatable......after 80 minutes if you have won then you progress  and if you happen to be one of those teams not expected to win then it has to be good for the game ..those guys get hammered every time they get to the pitch  and i have never seen them act like babies.it is hard to say anything to the press afterwards without them turning it upside down and inside out .well done yesterday first to ENGERLANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNND and then FRANCE

  16. Take a look how many pages there is that are disappointed the All Blacks lost. 5 pages and only 1 of these pages is Questions from New Zealanders.  The whole world is gutted.  Apart from maybe South Africa, England and maybe Australia

  17. The French played in the second half like a team possessed and give credit to them entirely for a wonderful match, it's the only time i can remember supporting the French in anything.

And i cannot understand why the All Blacks didn't play in their customary black strip. It sounds daft to say it influenced their play and was instrumental in their defeat,  but i remember England Football side  playing once in awful grey strip and they lost too.

  18. Give the Kiwis time to take it in.  I feel so bad for them.  They are a wonderful proud Rugby Nation and I would feel just as devastated if my team lost tomorrow against Fiji, which is unlikely but as we have seen, certainly possible.  So if the A.B's want to vent a little, let them.

Sympathy from this Bokkie to our great rivals.

  19. Congratulations to the French, absolutely.  An extremely disappointing performance from the AB's.

I take my hat off to the French, they deserved to win on possesion & tackles made stats!  The AB's had 72% possession and made only 36 tackles to France's 178 tackles or something...

What is that telling you, the better team on the day won.  This is not saying the French are better but they were better when it mattered.

I have to be honest and say the ref didn't help matters - penalties weren't given when French hands were in rucks and a forward pass resulted in French scoring a try, but again its not the only sport that it happens in.

Now that the AB's are out I wish South Africa all the very best, go South Africa!

  20. Lots of cheery kiwis which is good to see but there are still alot of bitter ones that want to blame the ref. Get over it. Every game has had a dodgy call by the ref. you sat in your armchair watching the telly with twelve cameras showing every angle. well good on you for spotting a slightly iffy forward pass. Te ref can see from his position only so cut the guy some slack.

Saying he was not experienced enough. Every time you lose it is the ref's fault. Get over it.

If you all think you can do a better job then get a whistle and get out there.

Every one has played their best. It is just one off those things that the AB's will choke in the RWC and get knocked out . They won it once, I doubt until they get over this image of being the worlds best that they might stand a chance of doing it again.

Lets see if Fiji can keep this trend going and knock out SA.

To all the Kiwis you did your best, Better luck in 2011, Maybe playing at home will give you an advantage. Seems to have worked for the French..
