All Blacks beat Springoks by a massive margin of 40-7: Second Half update
The All Blacks thrashed the Springboks by a huge margin of 40-7 in their first match of the Tri-Nations Cup, at Wellington on July 30. The Springboks proved to be a piece of cake for the All Blacks and the South Africans could not put up a half-hearted effort
in the match.
The All Blacks looked more aggressive in the second-half and played a controlled game. They proved flawless in the defending lines and had not given the Springboks any chance of scoring in the second-half. The repeated attacks by the All Blacks had played
havoc on the defence of the Boks and the flood gates of scores were opened.
The men-in-black accelerated their lead to the double digits in the second-half by tremendous team work. They rolled the ball nicely into the ground, made swift passes and made excellent moves, which were the salient features of their game during the decisive
part of the math.
Soon after the restoration of the play, Cory Jane had done well to deceive the young Boks from a reasonable distance to score his second try of the match. Carter, who has missed a couple of conversions during the first part of the, committed no mistake this
time and increased his team’s lead to 25-7 in the 45th minute of the clash.
The fully armed All Blacks ruined the defence of the Boks again in the 50th minute on a penalty kick as Deon Stegmann was penalised for putting the ball on the ground at the ruck and Carter made it 28-7.
Sonny Bill Williams was called on to the ground in the 54th minute of the match, as he replaced Conrad Smith. Chiliboy Ralepelle made a serious attempt for South Africa but failed to add any points to his team’s total. They tried to gain some
ground and maintain a little ball possession but their efforts ended badly.
Zac Guildford scored his second and the All Blacks fifth try in the 65th minute, when South African was looking to create a chance to break their second-half duck. Five minutes later Colin Slade celebrated his first try to take his team’s score
to 38-7. As the final whistle was blown All Blacks had done good enough to celebrate their first victory in the Tri-Nations Cup 2011.
