All Blacks dominate first-half of 2011 Bledisloe Cup match; Wallabies scoreless: Tri Nations match update
All Blacks have kick started their second 2011 Tri Nations encounter against the Wallabies, with their traditional Haka as the All Blacks are hosting the Wallabies at the Eden Park this Saturday,
August 6, in the first match of the 2011 Bledisloe cup series. The furst-half has been dominated by the New Zeland squad as they are up 17-0.
Wallabies are yet to beat the All Blacks since their victory in New Zealand in 2001 and even more horrifying is that they last defeated All Blacks at Eden Parks in 1986. Wallabies claim the
kick-off as they decided to run instead of kicking the ball, however All Blacks star international fly half Dan Carter put a great tackle on Wallabies centre Pat McCabe.
In the fifth minute of the game, Wallabies fly half Quade Cooper kicks the ball beautifully behind the All Blacks defence, as All Blacks gather the ball and counter attack to win a penalty.
Carter successfully scored on the penalty to put the home side in the lead by three points. Both teams are playing rugby at relatively fast pace, particularly keeping in view the fact that they are playing in wet conditions.
All Blacks enjoying a good passage of the play, as their scrum half Piri Weepu makes a beautiful run from the left wing, and later passed it to Sitiveni Sivivatu, who races away towards the
try line, but its Ma’a Nonu, who eventually crossed the try line to score the first try of the game in the eight minute. Carter capitalized with the conversion to take their lead to 10 points.
Following a brief ball possession by All Blacks, Wallabies have re-gathered the ball possession and press forward to win the territory. Cooper was close to go all the way, before Carter put
a check on him and prevents the move, meanwhile, Wallabies retain the ball possession as they edge closer to the try line.
In the 25th minute of the game Cooper over kicked the ball to their winger Digby Ioane, as All Blacks capitalise on the error to launch their counter attack. In the 26th
minute of the game, Weepu off loads to the hooker Keven Mealamu, to score the second try of the match. Carter followed with his conversion to take the scorecard reading 17 – 0.
Wallabies gain a momentary possession before their full back Kurtley Beale fail to hold on the pass from Cooper. Wallabies press forward with Connor, before Carter puts in another great tackle
to keep the Wallabies scoreless.
Minutes before the end of the first half, Carter put another successful tackle on the Cooper, as both teams leave the field with scorecard reading 17 – 0,in favour of All Blacks.
