All Blacks skipper Richie McCaw to decide his rugby future within one month
The All Blacks Skipper Richie is expected to decide his rugby future within one month.
His contract with New Zealand Rugby Union will be concluded at the end of 2011. He has been out of action since last four months and going to play his first match of the Super Rugby for Crusaders on Friday. McCaw had been suffering from foot injury and was
sidelined from all types of rugby by the trainers.
Richie McCaw who proved his fitness during the practice session was asked about his future with New Zealand Rugby Union. He told the media that as everyone know that his contract would be over at the end of this year so he will make the decision in this
regard very soon.
He said, “I've been thinking about it and, hopefully, will have something sorted in the next month.”
He further told that it was his utmost desire to play as long as possible for the national team but he would decide in the best interests of his side. McCaw has splendid career in international and Super Rugby formats. The 30-year-old versatile star has
been thrice declared player of the year by IRB.
McCaw said that his rugby career would be within two or three years so he is very serious about the matter. He admitted that he has talked about this to the other star player Dan Carter who has been offered 2.2 million dollars for per season by a French
club.
However, he was excited about his return to Super Rugby after a long absence. Though his team Crusaders were superb even without him but he knows the importance of his return as RWC is just at touching distance.
The Rugby World Cup would kick off later this year in September in New Zealand. McCaw told the reporters that he was feeling great to return to the rugby after the absence of four months. He argued that he was feeling good since couple of weeks that encouraged
him to participate in the remaining matches of Super Rugby.
