All Blacks star, Ma’a Nonu, out from Super Rugby for one match
All Blacks star, Ma’a Nonu, has been declared unfit to participate in the Super Rugby competition for the next match. Nonu suffered an eye-fraction during his last match against the Sharks in Durban. He was immediately taken to the local hospital and it
was ensured that the injury would keep him out for the next Super Rugby clash.
Earlier, another All Blacks player, Cory Jane, was ruled out of the Hurricanes’ side due to a thorn hamstring. Collectively the Hurricanes have lost six players in the ongoing Super Rugby championship. The Hurricanes have displayed a poor performance so
far and are on 13th position on the point’s tables.
This is their third worst performance in any Super Rugby stall with six defeats. The Hurricanes tasted eight defeats in 2007 and seven in 1996. This season is not over yet rather it is the middle of the season currently. The long injury list can add to their
misery since they have been performing badly throughout the season.
Among the other injured players of the Hurricanes, their flanker, Cory Jane, has been struggling with a hamstring injury and Serge Lilo with a broken ankle. Karl Lowe had a knee injury in the fifth round of the current season. Rodney So'oialo and Conrad
Smith have been struggling with a lower back injury and a broken nose, respectively.
The Hurricanes’ coach has shown disappointment over Ma’a Nonu’s injury. He told the media that his side was losing most of the matches due to minor mistakes and numerous injuries. Coach Mark Hammett said that he will make few changes in his side for their
next clash against the Reds.
The Hurricanes will return from South Africa tomorrow after a miserable journey. They have nothing to cheer about the tour as they could manage only a single win from three outgoings on the Reeboks’ soil. In addition, they were inflicted with additional
injuries that reached to six during their stay in South Africa.
The Hurricanes would take on the Queensland Reds on Saturday without their mainstream players.
