The Springboks play the All Blacks this saturday... Is this the biggest match of 2008? Who do you think will win? Prediction on the score? The best match up (player on player example carter vs james etc...)?

  1. Hard to say. This game will be played under the "ELVES" so very fast paced. Will the big bokke forwards go the full 80 mins against a deep AB bench? ABs should run the green monster ragged. But the obvious weakness is the AB line out and no Richie leading by example. Bokke should look to kick for touch, slow the game down and play quality line out sets - ABs will not want to put the ball out, but look to keep the ball in play and run run run run run ...

  2. Boks by more than 7. All Blacks won't match the Boks' mental strength, will to win in NZ and experience. The All Blacks can still win a nail bitter, I fear those monsters in Sommerville and Woodcock. This is by far the biggest match of the year thus far, note thus far! If it becomes a tussle then we look forward to more encounters but if one wins by a landslide then the rivalry is over ala 2003. I predict a good rugby score like 21-13 for the Boks. Best match up will surelly be Butch James vs Carter/No'nu! Butch will be the first tackler in the channel all day and it will interesting to see if he holds up against Flair and Brute force, by the way he played in the soft euro league so he could be tested, how quick he sttles determines his output. But the other rivalry will surely be between the Boks and The Ref!

  3. abs all the way

  4. hello, i'm italian and i practice rugby! this saturday begin the 3 nations, to me the springboks win against new zealand, but i'm not sure. bye

  5. its very simple, the team that plays better on the day will win.

but which team will it be.

the blacks are always very good and dangerous from any point in the field. the boks are also pretty much always good, and when they are on nobody can beat them. they just arent as consistent as the all blacks.

the all blacks have a lot of new faces, many of whom were already capped. they just havent played together as much.

the boks also have some (not quite as many) new faces, but also have a new coach. i think this plays into the all blacks hands a lot more. not just new faces, but new thinking.

i say the blacks win. by about 10 points. in a game that will be mostly closely contested with either some soft tries or magical tries.

whoever brings the most magic and makes the fewest mistakes will win.

  6. Its going to be close, I want the all blacks to win coz im kiwi, but after winning three tests against two under-strength sides, I'm not sure we got the work-out we wanted and I think we're underprepared.

It seems like if the boks can shut down Dan Carter, they've got it in the bag.

I'm calling the boks to win, by less than 7 points.

  7. The 2 teams are quite evenly matched.  EXCEPT for the outside backs for SA are rubbish rugby players.  Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want to take Chavanga or Petersen on in a running race BUT...  Can't pass, can't kick, can't tackle.

  8. hey i love rugby, i agree with u this is one of the biggest games of the year, wat i will say is that all though the springboks are the world champions, the all blacks are the most skillful, id go for the all blacks.

  9. All Blacks by 20, , Siti will show his class again, as will Carter, Ellis at halfback is a bit of a worry, but if the pack goes well may be ok.

  10. I'll go for the Boks, not only because I'm a South-African but, also because I believe that we have a lot of depth in the side at the moment. There is a couple of selections that I don't agree on in the side. I can't see why the coaching staff want to let a world class player like Monty sit on the bench. Jantjies is not bad at all, but if you look at experience, Monty is the best bet. If you look at the history between the two teams, when Carter played against James he could never perform like he perform against other world class teams. James puts him under to much pressure, which causes Carter to make mistakes. Also I think that our centers are ranked among the top in the world. Look at the form of Jean DeVilliers. We will have to wait and see who will pair up with him in midfield but, Steyn to me will be the best bet. We have the best wing in the world on the left side of the field, and on the other side, hopefully Ndgane will be selected (much better that Peterson). At least he can do the basics right, tackle, catch balls, pass, kick and run sprint like h**l.
