All England Championships puts Denmark in a trial – Badminton news
The Danes have been subjected to a tough trial in the Yonex All England Badminton Championships as the top ranked shuttlers of badminton world are participating in this vital event before the London Olympics.
The former champion World Number four Peter Hoeg Gade and the duo Christinna Pedersen-Kamilla Rytter Juhl, who holds seventh spot in Women’s doubles World Rankings, will have to put superlative performance to lead the Denmark to glory.
The All England Championships has turned into survival of the fittest war as five world badminton champions of the all categories are locking horns in the event.
The five champions include, women’s doubles champion duo Wang Xiaoli-Yu Yang, Cai Yun-Fu Haifeng the champion of men’s doubles category, the men’s singles champion Lin Dan, the women’s singles champion Wang Yihan, and mixed doubles champion pair Zhang Nan-Zhao
Yunlei.
The Denmark’s top women doubles pair Christinna Pedersen-Kamilla Rytter Juhl is ranked seven in All England Championships and they will show their guts against world’s top two pairs Wang Xiaoli-Yu Yang and Zhao Yunlei-Tian Qing of China.
They will also have to outclass the World Number three South Korean pair Ha Jung Eun-Kim Min Jung and the World Number six Japan’s Shizuka Matsuo-Mami Naito to earn a respectable position in the event.
The prime Danish shuttler Peter Gade is also in same kind of testing situation as he has the defending champion World Number one Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei in his way, who is at ease after having others world class players in his later rounds.
The Malaysian shuttler nailed the World Champion Lin Dan in the finals last year so it is not going to be smooth sailing for Peter Gade and he will have to put an extra effort to secure his place in top five players of the world.
The Danish singles ace Peter Gade did not exhibit his skills in the European Men and Women’s Team Championships as he was preparing for this event.
Now the time has come for the Danish male shuttler Gade to prove his worth in All England Championships and escort his country to success in the event.
