All England Open: Tian Qing and Zhao Yunlei tame Chin Eei h*i and Wong Pei Tty in first round clash
China’s talented shuttlers Tian Qing and Zhao Yunlei showed their superiority in the arena by defeating Malaysia’s Chin Eei h*i and Wong Pei Tty in Women’s Doubles first round of All England Open Premier Super Series 2012 at Birmingham, England, on Wednesday,
March 7.
The World Number Two Qing and Yunlei, who are second seeds in Women’s Doubles main draw of All England Open, did not face any considerable problem from their lower ranked Malaysian opponents and won the match easily.
The higher ranked Chinese players showed their impressive skills and thrashed the Malaysians without losing even a single set.
From the opening rallies of first set, Eei h*i and Pei Tty put up wonderful show of fast badminton and took a reasonable lead over their Chinese rivals.
However, the Malaysians failed to maintain the gap as Qing and Yunlei played fast game and levelled the score by reaching at 9-9.
Until the one-minute break in first set, both pairs were close on the score board as they were playing at the same level.
The score remained narrow after the break as both sides played positive badminton and reached at 15-15 when the Chinese shuttlers started to control the pace of rallies.
Qing and Yunlei became quicker at net and created pressure on their rivals. They remained successful in taking the first set with a reasonable 21-17 score on the board.
In the second game, both sides again remained neck-to-neck by playing to their maximum speed and reached at 9-9. They employed every skill to dominate the pace of rallies but could not create pressure on each other.
Until the one-minute interval in the second set, Qing and Yunlei were slightly ahead of their Malaysian opponents by reaching at 11-9.
After the break, Qing and Yunlei played positive badminton by controlling the pace at net and stretched their lead without facing any considerable resistance.
Chinese shuttlers proved their impressive play as they remained on track and bagged the second set with a remarkable 21-14 score on the board.
Qing and Yunlei won this Women’s Doubles battle against Malaysian rivals in straight games by a convincing margin of 21-17 and 21-14.
