All India Junior: Saad Ali Syed advances into Boys’ Singles U19 qualifying round – Badminton news
India’s emerging shuttler, Saad Ali Syed, continued proving his worth in Boys’ Singles qualifying round as he outwitted his compatriot Ritesh Kothari at the All India Junior Ranking Tournament 2013 on Monday, June 24, in Hyderabad.
The in-form Saad Ali, who has a wonderful temperament on court, played with extraordinary precision in this qualifying round clash. He easily outplayed his opponent in a crushing fashion while taking just 22 minutes in the arena.
Saad Ali was in complete command as he dominated the pace from the starting points and maintained it throughout the battle. He gave a severe lesson to Ritesh by ending up the contest in straight sets with a superb margin of 21-11 and 21-13.
Meanwhile, Ritesh tried to put up strong fight in the starting points but he failed to move quickly in all areas. He remained struggling all the way and crashed out without shaking the confidence of his challenger at any stage.
From the opening points in first game, it was Saad Ali who maintained his upper hand by playing attacking badminton in right areas and he set up a wonderful lead at the initial stage.
Ritesh tried to close the gap by executing powerful smashes but he failed to place these smashes in gaps and eventually remained far behind until the one-minute interval.
After the break, the impressive Saad Ali maintained his positive run on court. His smooth sailing got a wonderful pace and he easily wrapped up the first game of this contest with a lopsided 21-11 score on the board.
In the second game, Ritesh increased his speed but not enough to create to problem for the in-form Saad Ali who was moving around with wonderful speed.
The positive and planned play of Saad Ali enabled him to stay on driving seat. He did not show any sign of confusion and easily secured a dominating lead on the score board.
After the break, the impressive Saad Ali showed urgency in finishing off rallies. He did not miss any chance to bury the bird by executing smashes and wonderful net killings. He took the second game without facing any resistance with a huge margin of 21-13
and advanced into the next stage.
