All India Sub Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament: In-form Saride Manideepak eases into next stage
Saride Manideepak, a spirited player from India, utilised the opportunity to make his presence felt as he defeated his compatriot Shrivastava Akshay at the second stage of qualifying round at the All India Sub Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament on Monday,
October 22, in India.
The lofty Manideepak, who has been working hard to find a good for the last few months, finally proved his worth and reached into third stage of qualifying round after taming his rival in just 34 minutes.
Manideepak showed his elevated craft and took the opening set easily but he had to work a little hard in the second game before winding up the contest in straight sets with a convincing total on score board.
Akshay, on the other hand, did not expect such a shocking treatment from his rival in this match as he failed to play competitive badminton and also lost his focus at the crucial stages when it mattered most.
In the starting game, the lofty Manideepak delivered a spectacular feat on court as he executed shots with remarkable variations from starting points.
The positive and elevated skills and remarkable strategy helped Manideepak to keep his challenger in all sorts of trouble in the arena.
Manideepak did not show any sign of confusion as he remained in commanding position until the end of first part.
The fight progressed in the similar fashion after the one-minute break as Manideepak did not lose his control over the pace of rallies at any stage.
Manideepak was very calm and composed in the arena as he did not commit mistakes and wrapped up the set with a remarkable 21-12 score on the board.
In the second game, Akshay played well this time and managed to stay close to his in-form opponent at the initial stage.
However, Manideepak employed wonderful shots and managed to stay in command until the end of first half.
After the break, Manideepak stayed calm and composed but quick on court and remained successful in grabbing the second game with a comfortable 21-18 difference on score board.
Manideepak won this entertaining battle against Akshay in straight sets with a striking margin of 21-12 and 21-18.
