Japan’s Yoshiteru Hirobe-Kenta Kazuno doubled the celebration after marching into the Men’s Doubles finals of Yonex OCBC US Open GPG on Friday, July 6, 2012.
They overpowered Juergen Koch-Peter Zauner of Austria in a straight-set match of the semi-final round.
They spent just 27 minutes on court and secured the honour by registering final figures of 21-17 and 21-11.
Earlier, another Japanese duo of Hiroyuki Endo-Kenichi Hayakawa also powered their way to the title match and now both compatriots will play their heart out to land on the podium.
The team of Yoshiteru Hirobe and Kenta Kazuno has grabbed all the attention with their uninterrupted run throughout this Grand Prix Gold tournament.
Now the World Number 35 duo surely will strive hard to finish this race as Champions by employing their valuable experience of previous encounters.
In semi-final match, they looked a bit confused in the beginning as they kept trailing behind their challengers all the way to half time.
The Austrian pair gained a decent advantage immediately after the 3-4 total. They prevailed in five consecutive rallies and reached a dominating position of 8-4.
However, they lost that touch just before the interval and allowed their competitors to narrow the gap. This resulted in a tight margin of 11-10 at mid-game break.
There was lot of fluctuation in later part of the game as at first Juergen and Peter were making smooth progress but then the Japanese came in the way and put their expedition to a halt.
Both contenders remained toe-to-toe until 16-16 but then Yoshiteru-Kenta bagged five out of ending six points in concluding figure of 21-17.
They relished full benefits of this psychological supremacy and outclassed their competitors in the second set of the match.
Yoshiteru and Kenta, who are also ranked four in this tournament, set the ball rolling with 4-1 total in start.
They confined their opponents to the rear court with a couple of well-placed shots and ended first half with favourable result of 11-5.
After the interval, the Austrian team failed to rise from the dust and knelt down in a disgraceful manner.
Yoshiteru and Kenta played attacking badminton to seal a straight-set win with 21-11 score on the board.
