Question:

All Religions; Does it make sense to Tempt God the Almighty?

Jesus was tempted by Satan, I just don't see why Satan would tempt God. And please don't say Satan didn't know. After Jesus baptism he recovered his heavenly past, when satan drew close he address him as Satan a title that supposedly JESUS gave him back at the Garden of Eden. Basically Satan knew who Jesus was and if he knew he was really God why tempt him?

  1. Another odd theological thought, that god can be tempted. If god is tempted that would make god less than god.

  2. Satans greed filled his thoughts...he was too far gone to think other than wicked thoughts at that point..

  3.    Satan  was  and is  the god of this  world,,and  he  thought he

could  tempt  Jesus  by  giving  him  a lot of  worldly thing,s,

but  what  Satan  did not understand  was  Jesus  deal,s  with

the spiritual  thing,s  of  God  and not of this world.

  4. I usually tempt God with a bag of Cool Ranch Doritos and a six pack of Brooklyn Lager.

    Deist

  5. Well - if you consider the fact that God created everything and the fact that he is all-knowing, Satan wasn't tempting anything. He was doing what God designed him to do - nothing more and nothing less.

Edit: Exactly. The concept of free-will can not co-exist with an all-knowing creator deity. His pre-knowledge means pre-programmed.

  6. It doesnt make sense that God could be tempted. Why would God be tempted to have something that he created?

  7. Sure.  I try to tempt unicorns with bowls of fresh fruit and vegetables all the time but somehow those invisible, non-existent beings just never fall for it and I end up with uneaten bowls of decaying plant matter.

    At least that's real.
