All Too Hard secures thrilling win in All Aged Stakes
All Too Hard secured a thrilling victory in the All Aged Stakes (Group 1) at Randwick in Australia on Saturday, April 27, 2013. He was the outright favourite to succeed, but did not find things to be easy and had to fight hard in the end.
The four-year-old colt entered the event with a starting price of 9 to 5, which means that the bookies had immense faith in him. Moreover, the punters also gambled a lot of bets on him, as they were certain that he would finish on top of the table comfortably.
Looking at the track conditions, it was expected that all of the runners would give their best, as the going was described as good. This is exactly what they did and fought extremely hard from the start until the end.
All Too Hard struggled in the opening phases of the race and found it quite hard to match the speed of his rivals. He was taken by a surprise, but still managed to recover strongly in the 7 furlong event, which tested the speed of everyone.
In the end, he just managed to take the top spot by half a length. His team would have been relieved with the end result. On the other hand, his fans were also happy with the outcome of the race.
Peter Orton, general manager of co-owner Vinery Stud, told the Herald Sun: “We always thought he was the real deal and he certainly proved it today. He is just the most magnificent looking animal and a really classy racehorse. We didn't need to be here today,
he's got nothing to prove but you don't duck and dive from these things, it was just great to see him get his return and yes, we will definitely be on our way to England.”
Overall, All Too Hard has performed really well for his team over the years. He has participated in a total of 10 races, winning five of them whereas finished as a runner up on a couple of times. Other than that, he has also secured the third spot once,
which shows that he has the ability to be competitive with consistency.
