All about how to go to tokyo from Okayama?

I need instructions how to go to tokyo from Okayama. And all things about the trip (time, distance, etc)

Time wise it will take you about 3.5 hours from Tokyo.  If you took the 0600 train from Tokyo you will arrive in Okyama station at 0922.  To buy a ticket, you need to go to a JR green window and purchase a shinkansen ticket.  The link below will show you the actual time tables.  I found it is best to have your choices all written down on paper, write the train name, number, time of departure and how many adults, children.  It is good to have some second and 3rd choices in case you first choice is not available.  Do this for both ways.  Smoking is allowed in designated cars, if you want you can buy a ticket with a seat in a smoking car.  Be sure to ask for non smoking if you do not smoke.

During the ride the train will make quick stops at a few stations.  I fyou choose a Nozomi shinkansen, there will be less stops and the ride takes less time.  JR sells bento boxes and other food and drinks on the train.  The person will walk up and down the aisles selling the stuff.  Cash only.  At the platform, there are convenience stores that sell bento, and all kinds of food and drinks.  

If the weather is clear, you ight be able to see Mt Fuji when you pass that area.  

After an hour me and my kids get bored, so bring your PSP, DS, iPod, books and magazines.  Unlike an airplane there is no in flight entertainment.  

Once you arrive in Okayama, just follow the exit signs, there is only one main exit at Okayama station.
