All about leaves?

Question

what will happen to the leaves if it were kept in a dark place prior to it being tested for starch? will it gave a positive result for the presence of starch once iodine was placed in it?

ok...here is the procedure...

put a piece of paper on the leaf and place it in the dark 4 24 hours........

after that remove the paper and put the leaf in boiling water 2 soften it. then remove the leaf and put it in a tube containing alcohol....put the tube with alcohol n leaf in boiling water............this process removes the chlorophyll frm the leaf...as a result it turns colourless.

now 2 this leaf add iodine solution....the part of the leaf which was covered does not give a positive iodine test...while the rest part turns blue black indicating the prsence of starch
