I was just wondering what this league is. The website doesnt say much. If you know anything about it let me know.

Is it true that every state will have a team and that players can only play for their state?

  1. The AAFL is a new pro football league, played during the Spring, and the main concept is to keep the college players who don't make the NFL in their college town, playing in the same college stadium and in front of the same fans.  Because of this, we are already seeing alot of excitement, enthusiasm, even loyalty from these college fans.  It's all about the players, and since they already know some of them - many fans already feel a connection with the team.

Each team (6 this first year), has "rights" to 15 players who graduated from a school in that state (or other state that team has rights to); which means those players will not be in the draft.  The draft will be held in late January; training camp will be the entire month of March; and the first games will be April 12.  To be eligible for the league, players must have exhausted their NCAA eligibility, and must have graduated.

Teams for this first year are Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Michigan, Tennessee, and Texas.

If you have other questions, please feel free to ask.  I work for the league, and will tell you as much as I am allowed.
