  1. Possibly carter could move to 12 and evans could come in at 10 or carter could stay at 10 and maa nonu could play at 12

with mcalister and mauger leaving it will be difficult but im sure u will still sort something out so u win the tri nations and bledisloe cup

  2. Steve Brett is good. However I think Steve Donald would go well in the number 12.

  3. i wouldnt mind seeing nick evans at 10 nd carter at 12 but other than that probablyy ma a nonu or even richard kahui if he is fit

  4. Good question. There's a whole super 14 in 2008 to get through before that call has to be made.

At this stage I can't think of any other second fives off the top of my head. I don't think Brett should be an international second five, his defence is quite weak.

The position is wide open for the taking..... could you see Toeava moving in one spot? Ma'a Nonu?

Far too early at this stage to make a call. No one really stands out for me. McAlister and Mauger are going to be leaving a large void when they take off.

  5. I like Tamiti Ellison at 12.  I reckon if he does well in next years Super 14 he might make it.  But really I think they will make Conrad Smith play 12.  NZ have got ample cover at 13 at the moment and I think they'll shoe horn him in there.

  6. 2nd/5/8 seems to be a postion where we are not producing certain All blacks (same as centre) - whereas 1st/5/8 and wing there seem to be loads of candidates.

I rate Tane Tuipolotu. He reminds me of Frank Bunce - a late maturing sort of player who could play 12 or 13.

There might be some other youngsters who can step up to the plate. Keep your eye on Canterbury for these - they poach the best from other provinces.

Stephen Brett is a fantastic player but like Dan carter, he'd go well at 2nd/5/8 but I beleive his strength is as a 1st/5/8.
