All four team medals won by the Egyptian players at the ITTF African Open
The Egyptian players were seen in their full form at the International Table Tennis Federation ITTF African Junior and Cadet Open. At the end of second day events on April 7
at Cape Town, South Africa, the team from Egypt ended with four titles to their name.
The team from Egypt was the favourite from the start of the championship. They maintained that status till the end of the championship. The players reached the targets which they set before the proceedings of the competition. The matches they played were
won three-nil.

The team of Omar Bedair, Abdel-Rahman Mohamed and Mohamed Shouman clinched the crown of the Junior Boys Team event. They won the title against the team from Tunisia featuring Adem Hmam, Enzo Lumbrozo and Thameur Mamia.
Before reaching to the finals the Egyptian team outclassed the team from Cameron. The team of Alex Nikwango, Dvy Nikwango and Ndajong Ogen Bah was defeated in three-nil matches. Similarly the team from Tunisia won over the team from Algeria comprising of
Yaniss Douifi, Amine Belkadi and Mohamed Lazaci.
The team from Algeria settled with a bronze medal and the team from the host nation ended up in the fourth position in the Boys Junior Team events.
In the junior girls team the trio f Nadeen El-Dawlatly, Sara El-Sokary and Dina Meshref stole the day. They showed a consistent performance throughout the team event and sealed the day with a three-nil victory in every team match of the championship they
played.
On the previous day the Junior Girls team from Egypt defeated the team from Mauritius comprising of Widaad Gukhool, Deborah Wong and Caroline Ramasawmy. The final result was three-nil defeat from the Egyptian team.
On the final hurdle it was the team from the host nation who was defeated by the girls from Egypt. The trio of Vivian Jackson, Sisipho Mvunyuswa and Letshego Seleke were of no match against them. The final result was straight victories in all the matches
they played.
The team from South Africa ended up at third position whereas the team from Algeria comprising of Chahinez Bougadoum, Katia Kessaci and Islem Laid ended up at second place.

It was more or less equal for Egyptian boys and girls in the Cadet Junior team events. The team comprising of Egyptian Ahmed Dabbous and Aly Ghallab remained unbeaten throughout. They ended up at the top position followed by Grace Babekidio and Christ Bienatiki
from Congo Brazzaville as runners up. The duo of Dhia Ben Hamouda and Nadim Ben Mekki from Tunisia ended up at the third spot.

Similarly the Cadet Girls Team title was also won by the Egyptian girls Fagr Shouman and Alaa Saad. The team from Algeria stood second followed by the Mauritius duo of Jaisna Newaj and Marie Pascale Chowree.
The Event will conclude on April 10, the singles Junior Boys and Girls events of the championship will be contested on the last two days of the African Open.
