Biggest Jumps from last year: Phoenix, Edmonton, Tampa Bay, Chicago

    Phoneix Coyotes:(will make playoffs)

-added bulk up the middle with Olli Jokinen

-There youngsters: Peter Mueller, Kyle Turris, Martin Hanzal.

Peter Mueller recorded 54 points his rookie season. Turris and Hanzal are also highly rated.

    Edmonton Oilers:(will make playoffs)

    -added Visonovsky, Cole, Brule

-brule should fit in with gagner and cogliano

    -defense looks solid

Tampa Bay Lightning:(will make playoffs, but very close)

-malone and boyle are nice additions, also picked up hall, roberts and some others who fit in very nice as role players on this team. Chemistry will only tell with time for tampa.

-Drafted Steven Stamkos: predicting a 50-60 point season from him.

    Chicago Blackhawks(miss the playoffs)

-kane and toews will get much better this season(future of the team)

-huet is a good addition over khabibulin who just wasn't fitting in

-Brian Campbell was a great pickup...he'll be huge offensively for the blackhawks.

-really depens on weather kane and toews are already mature enough to push this team in the playoffs...i think they have a legitimate shot this year..but will barely miss out. look for a very strong blackhawks team 2 years from now. kane and toews will be interesting to see by then!

Solid teams last year-get a bit stronger this year: Capitals and Flyers

    Washington Capitals: (make playoffs)

-ovechkin has a strong enough overall supporting cast around him..semin and backstrom look to be developed already.

-theodore should fill the whole left by huet

-federov resigned for 1yr-4mill. good deal on both sides.

-resigned there stud defenseman Mike Green to 4 years.

-michael nylander back and healthy. should play on either the 1st or 2nd line.

    Philadelphia Flyers(make playoffs)

-offensively--philly has 2 very stong lines up front. resigned carter, lupul were critical.

-timmonen and hatcher solid defensively...they also have cobourn and jones who have stepped up there game last season and in the playoffs.
