  1. Roy is a much smarter man than you give him credit for...he won't step into the ring with those men. Sonny Liston and Rocky Marciano will come forward constantly applying pressure and throwing hard punches, their styles are like that of Glenn Johnson, only they are bigger and stronger and punch harder. Look what Glenn Johnson did to Roy and you can imagine that but much sooner.

  2. they would have lost.

  3. Jones would get absolutely destroyed by both. They would have to file manslaughter charges against the promoter.

  4. Against Sonny liston Roy Jones would have been brutally executed in the first three rounds.

Against marciano, ......marciano wins by first degree murder in the ring..

  5. Jones would have won over Liston, and Marciano would have won over Jones.

  6. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.  You Jest.  Down Goes Jones ----

                                                                             Down Goes Jones

                                                       Jones Is Down Und Out

    Save The Fisherman

  7. In my honest opnion, Marciano would have pursued, cut off the ring, and battered Roy Jone Jr into submission in about 5 rounds.  Sonny Liston would have also chased Roy around the ring, cornered him and blasted him out in about 3 rounds.  Roy was very fast and clever and great as a middleweight, but nowhere in the league of these guys.

  8. I've answered the question about Roy v. Marciano - Roy would dominate him - its just ridiculous to think that because he hit hard, he'd be able to get to Roy.

Liston too would be completely outclassed by Roy.  Power doesn't mean anything unless you have the speed to set up and land big shots.  These slow plodding heavyweights, who weren't even that much bigger than Roy, just aren't in the same league.

Larry Merchant, who was clearly not a Roy Jones fan, said it pretty well once, when he pointed out that speed kills, and speed intimidates, when guys are in there with someone who is faster than anything they've ever seen, and are getting hit with hard shots they can't see coming, being bigger gets neutralized pretty fast.

As far as his chin, Roberto Duran got hit with a perfect shot from Hearns as KOd, he also went 15 rounds with Marvin Hagler, even great fighters aren't immune to those 1-10000 shots.  The one against Johnson too, was a weird punch that landed behind the ear - one of those even dropped Micky Ward once, who could only be dropped otherwise by a shotgun.

  9. Only heavyweight Roy ever beat (when he was a heavyweight) was John Ruiz, and Ruiz isn't 1/10th of the fighter Liston & Marciano were.

  10. Jones leaves on a stretcher in both matches

  11. Roy Jones Jr. in his prime would have won every round he boxed against either Listion or Marciano, but eventually Roy would have got tagged, and that glass jaw that Tarver exposed would have exploded on the end of a Marciano or Liston right hand, then rounds won wouldn't have mattered.
