  1. Producers produce things that consumers consume. Ex. grass produces it's own food to live, cows eat that food, and we eat cows. The cow and we humans depend on that producer for life.

  2. Yes- all the energy that life is dependent on came from the sun it the first place- look at the various food chains, fossil fuels etc.

  3. Life is dependent on a creator greater than, outside of, and not affected by His creation. The creator of a computer is not inside the computer, the maker of a painting is not inside the painting, and the creator of this universe is not inside the universe. Life is so complex and unique as to make it non-naturally occurring or made up from the properties of its own material. While a snowflake is a configuration of organized atoms. This is a first level organization. Microbiology and DNA on the other hand is many, many magnitudes more complex. It actually convays information. Therefore we can conclude, life depends on a maker and a producer.

  4. not all life, undersea volcanoes for example provide energy to other forms of life. Without producers the majority of life would die out eventually  but not all life.

  5. Well think about it.

Producers obtain ALL the energy in which all other life lives on.  Without them who produces the first necessary level of energy for other organisms to feed on?
