  1. Like all statements.  It is both true and untrue depending on its context.

I can only worry about me, and the choices/actions I take.

  2. all men are created equal. its what they accomplish while they are alive that sets them apart.

  3. no because it's not true

  4. Since I'm not a racist or some other form of bigot, no.

  5. YES.

    What happened to women?

  6. No, Mrs. Jefferson, it doesn't.

  7. yes they are

but some men are more equal than others

and no it doesn't bother me considering I'm on the above average side of all statistics

    lol

  8. Certainly not, and it shouldn't bother you, either.  This is a concept, an idea.  It's meaning is that family, breeding, education, skin color are all meaningless with respect to human rights.  Every one has an equal right to those.

And, oddly enough, the Declaration of Independence was the first place that was written down.

  9. I believe what the phrase means is that everyone has equal worth as a human being and should be seen as equal in the eyes of the law. That should not bother anyone.  It does not imply that all men are of equal ability, intelligence, character, etc, which is clearly not the case.
