What should be fair compensation to serve on jury duty? Ya I know its a civic duty, but what is fair compensation? I hear its 15 dollars a day, ya right.

California jury duty is 15 bucks a day it sucks I know. Federal jury duty paid $40 a day last time I was called for service.

I think fair compensation would/should be what you'd normally made for the same amount of time at your place of work.

The last truly democratic institution (the jury of one's peers) is paid less than the minimum wage....
