All my files were erased, can i restore my songs using my ipod?

My laptop recently got a major virus, my dad was able to fix it but he had to delete all of my files, including mt iTunes. Is there any way that i can transfer all of the songs on my ipod back on to my computer? I never backed up my music and I'm really afraid to try anything for fear that it will erase what's on my ipod itself too! has anyone tried anything that's worked?

Well if Itunes was erased then you should have a media player if your using windows but for macintosh you should use Itunes (download it). By using your USB cord to connect your Ipod to the computer, it might open Itunes (if downloaded)  or windows media player. Transfer all of your songs from your Ipod to the computer by selecting all the songs from your Ipod and right click Convert selection to ACC. It would take a while to download all your songs from your Ipod to your computer and NO it would not erase your songs or files from your Ipod.
