Question:

All my life i have hated fish, the smell, the texture the taste, however...?

the past two weeks i have been constantly hungry, like i finish a large meal and in 20 minutes i feel peckish again, more oddly i have been craving fish sooo much, ive eaten haddock, cod, tuna and now want sardines something that has until recently made me feel physically ill. I eat relativly healthily and and take multi vitamins, so not sure if my diet was lacking...i just cant think what this would be?!

  1. if you just ate, you shouldnt be hungry. are you taking medicine? it can have that effect. the thing is if you snack between meals, you're going to be hungry nearly all the time.

    fish is ok i guess depending on how it's cooked. if they were breaded and fried you're probably craving it because of the fat.

    i too have disliked fish my whole life, i think because when i was young when we had fish, it was cooked with the bones still in it and i had to take the tiny bones out to eat it, just seemed like too much hassle and it wasnt that good to begin with. i once swallowed a fish bone and it stuck in my throat.

    what i really dislike about fish is just how much it stinks when people are cooking it. it's like the odour sticks around a long time. fish isnt my thing.

    as for your cravings for fish, maybe you're just wanting to try new things and since you've tried some fish, maybe you want to keep experimenting to see what you've been missing? as for me, i can take it or leave it, i dont go out of my way to eat fish, but if it's there i might have some, depending how it's prepared.

    i do know fish is high in certain things and the more fish you eat, maybe the more your body wants those things i dont know...

Maybe you just changed your mind about a food.  That happened to me once, with guacamole.  All my life I wouldn't touch it, because it was that yucky green color and had that squishy texture I hated.  Then one day I had an insatiable craving for guacamole, and tried some (and loved it), and for about two weeks that's all I wanted to eat (I swear I thought I was pregnant or something, but I wasn't!)  Anyway, IDK if it was because my body was lacking in some sort of nutrient found in avocados or something, but I've loved it ever since.  People's tastes change as they get older.  I enjoy eating all kinds of things I used to think were gross.  Crab legs, that's another one for me...or sweet potatoes.  Can't get enough now- yum!

  3. Maybe you're pregnant. Go to your local drugstore and purchase a pregnancy test. If you're not pregnant, then I woud would say that you are PMSing really bad.

  4. Well as people age, their tastes change as well.  Also with being constantly hungry it probably has more to do with your metabolism.  People with high metabolisms can digest food more quickly, therefore you feel hungry sooner.

  5. You body is craving/needing more than what your multi vit is giving.  Its ok to eat fish.  I think its nasty too, but cod is the only thing I can handle.

  6. i experience weird cravings too.. i used to hate hamburgers but now i love them!!

  10. Although i can't help would be interested to know people's comments on this. I am 23 yr old male. Cannot stand the smell of fish. Should i open the fridge or walk past a fish counter i feel pyshically sick! I have no idea why this is.
