All of the songs in my itunes library are different volumes, how can I make them all the same?

When I listen to my ipod on shuffle, I always have to adjust the vo,lume with every new song, I want them all the same.

  1. right click on the song, click on get info, click on the fourth tab (option), and then you should be able to adjust your volume.  


  2. Rachel, the problem is not with your shuffle. What you have found out is that every artist uses different audio settings in their recording process; for example, when I want to jam out to Breaking Benjamin or Linkin Park, I have to back my volume setting off - but when I want to listen to John Coltrane or Charlie Parker, or anything else for that matter, I have to boost the volume a bit. You have learned that each artist has a different sound engineer mastering their audio tracks; therefore, you will have to adjust your volume frequently. The same would be true if you had any other player, not just an iPod.

  3. Go to the edit tab up top, click on preferences. Then when the menu pops up click on the playback tab. In the top 3rd of the playback menu click the box that says Sound Check. That should do it, also it should automatically adjust songs as you add them to your collection.
