Did you know that Alaska was once a tropical jungle? Did you know that the Sun itself is in a state of heating up as it heads towards its final form? Did you know that human records over the last thousand actually showed a drop in temprature rather than a rise? Did you know that the fear thirty years before Global Warming was a Global Ice Age? Did you know that human carbon output is less then a thousandth of a percent than that of what volacnos and other Earth souces produce? Did you know that people don't think for themselves and believe what other people tell them? So here's the actual question will you figure out which of these things i've said are actually true, do your own research insead of relying on others to tell you and you assuming their right or will you accecpt what i and others have said? Tell me in an answer what you've found and ill check it with the actual information and data i've recovered over the internet cause i really want to know who does and who just lols

  1. No, I didn't know that "human carbon output is less then a thousandth of a percent than that of what volacnos and other Earth souces produce".

I still don't.  It's false.  From the link:

"If we take the 33 trillion tons of CO2 which has been suggested as the total given off during the extrusion of the Deccan Flood Basalts, and average it out over 500,000 years, we come up with about 66million tons/year.  This is equivalent to the amount of CO2 being produced yearly in the 1920's.  A recent EPA estimate for the amount of CO2 currently being added to the atmosphere is 7 Gigatons."

Note that today's rate of volcanism is much smaller than what occurred during the formation of the Deccan Traps.

So, do YOU think for yourself?

  2. Bob, posting "solar - Nope proof" a few thousand times doesn't magically make it proven.

The study you quoted finds that the warming from 1985 onwards can't be attributed to solar warming and it's only one study and you're apparently wishing away the subsequenct studies that disagree with the basis for that statement.

The science has certainly come a long way since 1998 when Micheal Mann 'proved' that human activity was soley responsible for all of the warming last century, but I think we still have a lot further to come before we establish a robust theory of climate.

  3. i believe the earth has to keep itself in balance. if you think of what man has done to alter the form and balance it is huge. all water that is on the earth was and always will be here it is just in another form. every tom ,d**k, and harry , has either built a dam dug a pond or lake or owns a swimming pool this water is displaced from its intent. with that in mind i believe the glaciers need to melt in order to keep the earths rotation on balance or you get a wobble like on a tire out of balance. may seem a little strange but just my opinion on mother natures way of fixing herself.

  4. Ha Ha...All of the above...LOL

  5. Global warming is happening, we can see this all around the world every day.

Humans contributing towards it, my opion is very much like yours. I cannot understand how we have all been fed this urban myth.

How can a gas of less than 0.03% of the atmospher make any difference to the temperature of the globe?

As soon as any government talks about raising tax to save the planet I start to get very nervious.

It makes perfect sence to look towards alternative fuels for our engergy requirements, as hydrocarbon fuels are running out.

    Ja.

  6. How do we know that the information we find on the internet is true?  It's just someone telling us what they believe?  Unless you are a scientist, you really have no way of knowing for sure.  You have to look at the evidence that is presented along with what they are telling you.

  7. I believe almost everything you've stated here is correct... BUT let's clarify your statements to reflect reality (not just as I see it but geologically et cetera). Alaska was covered by tropical forest at one time... over 100 million years ago! The continents have drifted all over the planet's surface and every bit of the continental plates has been covered by tropical jungles at one time or another. So your statement holds no water (pardon the pun) in regard to global warming.

The sun's output has been variable all along AND humans can do NOTHING about that... we have to live with that problem but to create our OWN problems can compound the natural cycles of the sun. As far as the sun "heating up as it heads towards it's final form"-- that is a misleading statement. The sun has many billions of years left in its present state... Sol is NOT an old age star.

"...human records over the last thousand actually showed a drop in temprature rather than a rise." uh uh. Sorry, it's only been about 150 years (which has shown an upward trend) of human records for weather. Through dendrachronology we can determine some rough estimates of temperatures prior to that but these are not precise, further any claim that temps were lower before is tied to geologic events such as several volcanic eruptions which triggered the Little Ice Age in the 1500 and 1600's. So we can't be sure what temps would be like now without those events.

Yes, there was some concern in the 1960's that we were overdue for a cyclic ice age, but this was based on spotty data and unconfirmed research.

Yes, volcanoes have created 1000 times more CO2 than mankind, BUT volcanoes have been on earth for 4 billion years while mankind has been here considerably less. Spread out over those time periods volcanos haven't done as much as man in so short a time.

As far as people believing what they're told: I can only hope that my answers to your diatribe prove that some people can be easily swayed by half-truths and incomplete data. The people who are banging the gong loudest about the Global Warming issue are the BULK of earth scientists who HAVE done the research and understand the issues (instead of politically or financially motivated individuals whose best interest lies in inaction).

The basic problem is: we don't KNOW what will happen if we continue to let our inactions warm the planet further. It could trigger massive warming and higher sea levels, droughts, famine whatever... or could drop temps in some areas, drastically. We DON'T know what will happen. And who would pay to fix the problem? Not Exxon (they couldn't pay for the Valdez wreck when Exxon agreed to haul ALL oil worldwide in double hulled tankers--as part of their agreement WITH the US population to build the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, they later claimed that would be too expensive--oh yeah, and that oil had too much sulfur to be sold in the US and was sent to Japan and sold there for a profit by Exxon, NOT the US taxpayers who paid for the Valdez AND allowed Exxon to build a pipeline on federal property that was supposed to relieve the oil crisis of the 1970's... and the government gave them tax breaks on top of it). If you think Exxon isn't working furiously to convince people there is no such thing as global warming then you don't understand profit motivation... Profits overrule laws, ethics, and basic humanity -- Enron is a great case in point! Please, look at the sites I have listed below. A couple these sites may look familiar but I think you may have misread some of them.

Keep paying your taxes because Exxon isn't...

  8. it is true. i don't do any research in the field but i doubt you are doing research in the field otherwise you would realize that your first 6 comments are irrelevant or wrong . although i do look at primary information sources such as scientific journals not blogs and newspapers.

BTW i don't count reading blogs research.

  9. It's impossible to educate the gullible fools that fall for this c**p. Sorry but the truth hurts sometimes. The information is out there but they prefer to listen to Al Gore and people with a vested interest.

  10. I wish you would use some facts without trying to twist things around.

-Alaska was tropical when, millions of years ago, it was near the equator, and so was Antarctica, as a matter of fact.

-the sun is not warming up, and it is not nearing it's final form for about 4 billion years yet.

    - there was a mini ice age during the last few centuries, and if not for global warming, it would have continued.

    - I'd rather rely on scientists to do the required research than try a home made research effort, like you probably did.

  11. Alaska - Many thousands of years ago.  Big deal.

    Sun heating - Nope.  Proof:

"Recent oppositely directed trends in solar

climate forcings and the global mean surface

air temperature", Lockwood and Frolich (2007), Proc. R. Soc. A

    doi:10.1098/rspa.2007.1880

Temperatures falling - Not since 1900.  Proof:

Global cooling - Just a few guys with no data, who got more media attention than they deserved, like the skeptics of today.  Details:

    http://www.realclimate.org/index.php?p=1...

Human carbon output - The natural sources are naturally recycled.  The human CO2 is what's causing the buildup of CO2 in the atmosphere.  Proof:

Tell me, did you think thousands of scientists were ignorant, or did you think they were engaged in a giant conspiracy?  EVERY major scientific organization says global warming is real, and mostly caused by us.

This is just a lot of bad information from global warming denier websites.  Science from scientists is here:

    http://profend.com/global-warming/

    http://www.ucsusa.org/global_warming/sci...

    http://www.realclimate.org

    "climate science from climate scientists"

    The bottom line:

"Global warming is almost a no-brainer at this point.  You really can't find intelligent, quantitative arguments to make it go away."

    Dr. Jerry Mahlman, NOAA

  12. <<Did you know that Alaska was once a tropical jungle? Did you know that the Sun itself is in a state of heating up as it heads towards its final form? Did you know that human records over the last thousand actually showed a drop in temprature rather than a rise?>>

yeah, yeah, yeah, but not applicable today.

<<Did you know that the fear thirty years before Global Warming was a Global Ice Age?>>

yeah, there was that worry on the part of a few, but not many.  (you've been reading co2anti-science way too much.)

<<Did you know that human carbon output is less then a thousandth of a percent than that of what volacnos>>

    http://volcanoes.usgs.gov/Hazards/What/V...

"Scientists have calculated that volcanoes emit between about 145-255 million tons of CO2 into the atmosphere every year.  This estimate includes both subaerial and submarine volcanoes, about in equal amounts.

Emissions of CO2 by human activities, including fossil fuel burning, cement production, and gas flaring, amount to about 24 billion tons per year.

Human activities release more than 150 times the amount of CO2 emitted by volcanoes--the equivalent of nearly 17,000 additional volcanoes like Kilauea"

<< and other Earth souces produce?>>

like what?  the normal CO2 cycle?  not relevant.  CO2 is increasing.  earth's temperature is increasing.  CO2 is the problem.

<<Did you know that people don't think for themselves and believe what other people tell them?>>

    got a mirror?

something like 10% of all the people WHO EVER LIVED are alive today, and eating, and reproducing.

it matters not one whit that it's been hotter or colder in the past.

nor why it was hotter or colder in the past.

what does matter is how the people alive today will grow enough food to eat.

what matters is what kind of world your children and grandchildren will inherit.

  13. in my residence, during the early 80's, one has to dig 20 feet before one reach water level. Now, one has to land fill the former ground level bc the water level is over it by 2 feet.

  14. wow you've done it......you should be nominated for the nobel prize in physics for disproving the work of thousands of scientists.

    just one question:

if the sun itself is heating up, then why are human records showing a drop in temperature? You blame the sun for warming, then deny warming is even occuring in the next sentence - very logical of you.

  15. The Natural Resource and output by volcano has check and the nature has the capablity to accept it because it was created by the nature so nature will have the control on it but only humans are creating the problem by giving the excess heat to the nature.

The Nature will accept and adjust it but the external heat created by us(human being) is directly affecting the GLACIERS.

  16. Al Gore is an Idiot!!!
