I have a little rat called lucky, he is scared alot and is about 4 months old. he never eats what my other rats eat- two are 5-6month olds, and one is 1yr old.

Usually when ever i give something to my ratties, they snatch or grab it then run away. except my little lucky boy won't do that!. he just sniffs it then walks away.

He wont eat anything but seeds! and babyfood. babyfood is exspensive because they go through alot so could you please reccommend things i could give him!?!

Ps. i even tryed to give him some little chocolate-but yet he still didnt want it.

please could you help, i would really appreciate.

thankyou

  1. Try cheese! I feed rats to my pet snake

  2. holly's ot some great advice...i just wanted to add that you really really shouldn't be offering chocolate to your rats. like dogs, they are sensitive to the theobromine & caffeine in it, and it can kill your rats easily. (it doesn't always happen right then and there...these items can build up in the system until one day it's simply too much.) all animals should be steered clear of it...the smaller they, are the worse it is.

  3. Some of my rats favorites are Rat Blocks, Cheerios, fresh fruits and veggies and dried fruit.  You can also try giving him a chew stick that is covered with nuts and seeds.  My rat doesn't like them, but my hamster does and I know people who's rats love them.  You might also want to consider separating him from the others.  If he is scared, that's probably why he won't eat...especially since he's the smallest.
