why in the world do you disrespect each other?

really what in the world is it to you if a person is christian, atheist, or buddist?

im a christian myself and i dont even want to do that.

i mean it would be nice to help convert someone but if they say no then no means no. Either they come on their own or they just dont.

it is not your job to decide what religion or faith someone is at all

  1. I'll stop badgering theists when they get out of classrooms with stupid ideas like intelligent design.

  2. I am atheist and my biggest problem is mormonism. You can be a nice person and still be a mormon. What I hate is their missionary work, traveling around the world converting poor hungry people into mormonism. These people have their own customs and beliefs and mormons are ruining it. If you watch those tribal shows you'll see that there are less of less undisturbed tribes in the world because christianity is pushing in and giving them clothes and bibles and almost forcing them to be christian, I hate it.

  3. Yes, and it's none of your business to try to convert anyone, or push your beliefs into the government or into schools.

You seriously need to reconsider why you think it's nice to convert someone.

    ____

  4. I don't disrespect other religions.  Actually, I hold many of them in very high regard.  No no, it's their followers who I often time have no respect for.  I do not and will not respect rude, obnoxious, mean people, whether they're religious or not.  If there's anyone on here whom I disrespect, it's because of the way they act, not because of their beliefs, or lack thereof.

  5. I'm an agnostic and I would like the answers to the same questions. I also know atheists (my brother-in-law) who wonders the same thing. I sometimes believe that people who believe in their own superiority treat people the worst-narcissism is running rampid in this world today.

  6. No, no, no, I don't judge, I merely lump people with similar beliefs into one big group.

The Christians have taught us how to behave around other people who are different.  So, its their fault.

  7. So why 'especially atheist?' We're not the ones who were told "go ye therefore into all the world, and preach the gospel unto every living thing."

You also just called me here to lecture me with your viewpoint about how I shouldn't lecture people with my viewpoint.

  8. Well as much as I agree, this isn't gunna change a thing.

Plus you should learn to practice what you preach, because if you feel this way, why say "especially atheists?"

  9. ariel-everyone was called to do God's work not just certain people and

yes no means no but when that happens i just quote scripture and give em the link to the song called cry out to jesus by third day here it is plzz listen everybody http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOb8ihacS...       enjoy plzz it turned me ova to the lord i pray it does for you too this song describes everybody we've all been there plzz e-mail me and tell me what you think of the song and tell me what jesus has done for you today i'll tell you he let me wake up and me able to walk and talk and nothing wrong with me that sounds like an awesome God to me!!!!!!!

  10. I agree with you

  11. but it is the job of a Christian to be a good witness.

  12. Salvation

"Jesus answered and said to him, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.' Nicodemus said to Him, 'How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born, can he?' "Jesus answered, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I said to you, "You must be born again."'"

    John 3:3-7

"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come."

    2 Corinthians 5:17

"He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."

    2 Corinthians 5:21

"You were dead in your trespasses and sins."

    Ephesians 2:1

"This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."

    1 Timothy 2:3-4

"My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world."

    1 John 2:1-2

"When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions."

    Colossians 2:13

"It is a trustworthy statement deserving full acceptance. For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers."

    1 Timothy 4:9-10

"But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many."

    Romans 5:15

"But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior."

    Titus 3:4-6

  13. People are free to practice whatever religions they want when they are at home.  When they come outside and infringe on my personal space and try to pass laws that will infringe on my rights, then I become resentful.

Perhaps you've never had a stranger approach you, judge you disdainfully, label you a sinner and proclaim that you had something wrong with you and you were destined for h**l based solely on a piece of jewelry or article of clothing that you were wearing, but many of us have.  It is especially hypocritical when they have NO IDEA what type of person I am, and my moral character may in reality be much BETTER than theirs.

Edit:  If you look above, you will see a prime example of annoying behavior.  We cannot even participate in a rational discussion without someone pasting a dozen passages of irrelevant scripture while not even making an attempt to answer the question.  This encompasses one of the most notable features of many Christians: They tend to only SAY what they want and they don't LISTEN to others.  They expect everyone else to listen to THEM, though.  They do the exact same thing offline in real life.

  14. It is.

Because when religious zealotry threatens the way the rest of our live by affecting laws and public policy, etc....then we atheists are d**n well going to do something about it.

This is what I refer to as a "bite me" situation.

  15. who says we disrespect each other stop making generalizations i don't disrespect anyone unless they ruin the respect like many bigots who tell me i am going to h**l because i dont believe in YOUR god or i need the salvation and all this other c**p if you guys don't bother us people and just remain where you are we won't have a problem but you guys are told to spread the gospel arnt cha? do this cause a problem! i don't want my children growing up in a place where just because we can't explain it then god did it ITS NONSENSE
