Please Explain to me what difference it makes when you are asking us something about your car, and when you tell us what make and model the car is, WHY do you tell us what your Registration letter is?

What difference does it make if your Vauxhall Cavalier is a "P" reg or a "V" reg or "G" reg or whatever when you are asking us about your cars mechanical problem?

  1. The reg letter determines the year the car was made, it shows its age which is obviously important when discussing value and repair etc...there's your answer.

    EDIT Tone down the hoity-toityness...

  2. The registration letter denotes year of manufacture, and now it is within six months. There are now two numbers (0x and 5x) where x is the actual year.

This will help determine the exact model and series of the model without having to resort to the log book.

It's a bit like a code that James Bond would use.

  3. it tells you how old the car is, so depending on age differne pats would be needed or differnt mechaniacal things for older cars or newer ones

  4. The reg denominates the age of the car

  5. becasue the registration plate determines how old/new the car is

    mine is a P reg - 1997

  6. The first letter on every number plate in England tells the age of the vehicle eg D649 MNW the D = 1986 i think. They dont use all letters such as I& O as they resemble numbers..
