I am going to buy some new tires as my winter set, I currently use all season tires for the winter, ( i use custom wheels in the summer) would it be best to step into a full blown winter tire, the weather here is usually mild but when it gets bad.... its bad. so would it be in my best interest to just keep with the All seasons, or get something a bit more aggressive, I do quite a bit of traveling and put about 7,000 miles on the tires between november and april....... any good input?

  1. Look at the Bridgestone BLIZZAK, you should get several years out of them for winter use and then you can run them out over the summer and fall.

  2. Winter tires are not like All-Season tires. Winter tires have special rubber compounds designed to improve traction, handling and braking in all cold weather conditions, not just ice and snow.

Winter Tires are designed to deliver safety and control in snow, ice, and cold weather conditions. Many people think that all-season tires can deliver this same performance, but this is not true. The superior traction that winter tires deliver, as much as a 25 to 50 percent increase over all-season tires, can very well be the margin you need to stop in time or turn to avoid trouble.
