All the places Dwight Howard could be playing next season - NBA Feature Part 1
There has been talk of Dwight Howard wanting to part ways with the Orlando Magic franchise but no luck in form a move has come close to being materialized and the Superman does not seem to heading any where any time any soon.
The big man has even gone to reject every offer that has come his way from the Magic management in order to seek a move away from the organization. However the team management do not seem to be in favour of a move but the big man
has been linked with a few teams making a strong bid.
As the current situation stands, Howard is set to stay in Orlando to play out the one year left on his contract and hope to leave as a free agent. But it is only an amount of time before the Magic management realize the possibility
of cashing in their star player is slipping away slowly.
So if Howard was able to secure a move away from Orlando. How could the teams benefit from the 6 times NBA All star noteworthy experience of being a dominant force in the NBA. Superman has averaged double-double figures for his
rebounding and scoring in his career and can be a true asset for any team he becomes a part of in the future.
During the summer, there have been a lot of teams making a strong bid to land the centre but Los Angeles Lakers did emerge as a strong contender out of the bunch. But the big man also drew rapid interest from other teams like
Atlanta Hawks, Houston Rockets but no team could have had a stronger chance as Howard hinted towards wanting to join the Brooklyn Nets. Let’s assess all the possibilities out there for Howard and how he could fit in with those teams.
1. Dwight Howard as a Los Angeles Lakers player?
If Dwight Howard had been able to give way to a possible way and sign with the Lakers, things could have been a lot of different considering the title contenders coming in to next season. The Lakers would have automatically gone
back to being considered as one of the top teams in the NBA and their status of being title contenders would have resurfaced.
With Howard playing inside the paint, the Lakers offense would not only be getting rid of the claims of being one-dimensioned, it would present itself as a force for the opposing teams.
One of the major factors made possible by the move would be of having three of the best players in recent years to be standing alongside each other. The Lakers already had Kobe Bryant established as the face of their franchise
but with the arrival of Steve Nash and Howard, things would automatically start moving towards the better.
However the move would have also meant that the Lakers in order to be a little bit more financially stable would have to get rid of one of their twin towers. Either Pau Gasol or Andrew Bynum would be on their way out of the organization
with the inclinations being towards the younger of the two big men.
But, there can be no doubt that if Howard comes over to adorn the purple and yellow of the Lakers, things would certainly start to flurry back for the Hollywood based team who can use a player like Superman to save/re-establish
their position in the NBA.
