All the places Dwight Howard could be playing next season - NBA Feature Part 2
There has been talk of Dwight Howard being headed away from Orlando Magic and several teams have been linked to be making a strong bid for the All-star Centre. But no team could have been presented with a better chance as Howard
himself asked the Orlando management to be traded away to the Brooklyn Nets.
2. Dwight Howard as a Brooklyn Nets player?
If Howard had been able to land himself a move away from Orlando and fulfilled his desire to join the Brooklyn Nets. The prospected combo of Deron Williams playing alongside on the best big men in the NBA could have been a very
formidable force.
However the move would have not only been benefitting for these two but could have been an exciting prospect for the Nets franchise who had recently relocated to Brooklyn and having two of the best players present in their roster
for their first ever season in the NBA would have automatically thrown them into the upper echelon of the basketball circle.
Brooklyn with their newly structured roster of Joe Johnson, Gerald Wallace already have enough in their tanks to be a genuine playoff contender next season and had Howard been acquired in a trade, the franchise would have hit a
jackpot.
3. Dwight Howard as an Atlanta Hawks player?
Another one of the teams that emerged as favourites to land Howard is his home town team, the Atlanta Hawks. With several changes taking place in the ranks of the organization, Atlanta management has been re-structuring their franchise
and with a move for Howard, they could have emerged out as being a strong force for the coming seasons.
As part of their new strategy, they already got rid of Joe Johnson and his expensive contract to clear up much needed cap space to land a big time player. However no move could be made possible as Howard had been adamant on going
over to the Nets.
But that does not rule the possibility out of Howard coming over to play for his home town team in the near future. One of the main reasons that can be pointed out as the focal point for making the deal possible is the relationship
Howard has with Josh Smith.
Both these players have had friendly relationship in the past and with both of them having an explosive skill set up their arsenal would like to play alongside each other. Not only would these two have ensured Atlanta to be genuine
playoff contenders but could have also helped the Hawks get out of their run of bad luck in the post season.
4. Dwight Howard as a Houston Rockets player?
The fourth team that have been linked with making up moves to land Howard at their door steps have been the Houston Rockets. The Rockets management have been lining up several young draft picks in order to land the big man.
However the move may have come with its fair share of risks. They Rockets used their first round draft picks to select Royce White, Jeremy Lamb and Terrence Jones in a hopeful step to trade away the young prospects to land Howard
in their roster.
The direction taken by the Rockets management may have been risky but could have worked out in the long run. Had they been able to land Howard, either they would have gotten their hands on a player ready to cement his legacy in
the NBA or a player not ready yet to give up his adamant desires and slip down the rankings and get good future draft picks. In both ways, the Rockets would have liked their chances.
