All-time great Thomas ‘The Hitman’ Hearns backs Floyd Mayweather over Manny Pacquiao – Boxing news
The legendary American boxer, Thomas ‘The Hitman’ Hearns, who won eight world titles in six different weight divisions, has shared his thoughts on an eagerly anticipated bout between the five-division world champion, Floyd Mayweather, and Manny Pacquiao,
who is an eight-division world champion.
The all-time great Hearns, who became the first boxer in history to win world titles in four divisions and then 5 world titles in 5 different divisions, has backed Floyd Mayweather over the Fighting Pride of Philippines, Floyd Mayweather, as he thinks if
Mayweather sticks to a certain game plan, he will beat Pacquiao.
The undefeated American pugilist Floyd Mayweather, who has won all of his 41 professional fights, with 25 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, is currently the World Boxing Council Emeritus World Super Welterweight Champion. Manny Pacquiao on the
other hand is the current World Boxing Organisation’s Welterweight Champion (Super Champion).
Therefore almost everyone out there desperately wants to see these two boxing’s best taking on his each other. Hearns also admitted that the Mayweather-Pacquiao bout would be a complete sell out but on the same note, he remarked Mayweather should appear
on top.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “I would say that it would be an awesome fight between the both of them, but I think that Floyd should win the fight. If Floyd does what he's supposed to do, then I think Floyd wins.”
Pacquiao is also rated as the number one pound-for-pound boxer in the world. Hearns’ reckons Pacquiao can only win against Mayweather if he knocks him out as otherwise Mayweather will win.
Hearns remarked, “If he doesn't, then Pacquiao will take over the fight. Manny Pacquiao comes to fight. That's all that he wants to do. But I think that the only way that Pacquiao could win is by knockout of Floyd. The way that Floyd is going to win is to
out-box Manny Pacquiao and to make Manny Pacquiao fall apart.”
