All wheel drive small SUV's & snow tires?

I just bought an all wheel drive Hyundai Santa Fe and am heading to where it may be snowing this weekend,says chance of snow showers.Do I need to buy chains for the car or should I be ok w/o them?

  1. No, you don't need chains. Just drive slow on the snow and don't go too fast on the corners.


  2. I wouldn't buy snow tires this time of year. As doug said just don't drive it hard if it does snow. I would think the tires on it are adequate for most driving conditions. Just don't get of the road to test the all wheel drive.

  3. If chains are required on the road you will be traveling you must have them even if you do not put them on. A lot of mountain passes will require you to carry chains during winter months.

  4. You don't need chains if you drive carefully.
