All year-round CHRISTmas radio station?

Do ya'll know if there is a Radio station that plays CHRISTmas music all year round? *Not a special XM radio or w/e, but on a normal FM/AM radio...*

That's a pretty interesting question. I did have dreams about radio stations playing a Christmas song in January. I do not really know of any radio stations that would play Christmas music all year round. It would be interesting to have a radio station that plays Christmas music all year round though. Walking In The Winter Wonderland is really not a Christmas song, because they don't say the words Christmas or Santa Claus in the song. Walking In The Winter Wonderland is a winter song. Walking In The Winter Wonderland could be played on the radio any time during the winter season.

The first station around my area to do so is B101, who starts playing it a 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. I love Christmas music and I wish stations did play it all year round.

Or, go to ShoutCast and type in "Christmas" in the search bar. There are some all Christmas stations.

Not year 'round. But there is a bit of a rush about this time of year to see who'll be first to go All Santa thru 12/27 or so. That's the station you can bet is ready to change formats aruond 1/1/08. They'll start playing Xmas music - now!

It's an attention getter and a proven ratings winner - usually to the first station in a market that does it.

EDIT: Buddy of mine in a big market got slaughtered last year when his Hot AC competitor went all Xmas around Thanksgiving last year. Biggest book they'd ever had.

I don't know if they are going to do this in New York City again, but last year Lite-FM (106.7 - WLTW) did do a Christmas format from around Thanksgiving until early January.

The station I work for starts playing all Christmas music a week before Thanksgiving.  We have been doing this since 1999.  One of our competitors tried Christmas music on October 1st a couple years ago and it backfired on them.

Usually radio stations start playing all Christmas around Thanksgiving.. any earlier and they find people run away in droves as people assume Christmas music with that time of year.

But nope, unless it's a stunt to change the radio station's normal format to something else, forget all Christmas except during that Holiday season (and Duh, I've seen them go up till the 12th day of Christmas (January 6th called the epiphany)

music after thanksgiving ,if it was up to me and i owned a radio station i would pell my d.j.'s to start playing that type of

music at least two weeks before christmas .(but then that's me ).
