English Premier League giants http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 have completed their second signing of the winter transfer window and here’s all you need to know about him, Kevin de Bruyne.
The 20-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Cahill-c14439 earlier on in the month. It was reported that De Bruyne had signed for
the Blues on a long term five-year deal from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Racing-c40298 Genk.
A statement released by Racing Genk read:
“The transfer of Kevin De Bruyne to Chelsea has been completed. He has signed for five and a half seasons and will continue (playing with) Genk until June.
His signature was confirmed at 0.30 last night. De Bruyne and his agent will return back today from London, along with general director Dirk Degraen.”
While Chelsea have successfully signed their third Belgian player, with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Romelu-Lukaku-c31672 and Thibaut Courtois already in the squad, he will be rejoining Racing Genk on loan for the remainder of the season so that he can continue playing regular
football with the club.
The statement continued:
“Genk will hold a press conference with (director) Jacob Gunther and Dirk Degraen in which they will clarify the transfer policy.
Afterwards, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-De-Bruyne-c20717 will also give an explanation about his transfer to the English club.”
De Bruyne started his footballing career with Gent, joining Racing Genk just two years later. After three years playing for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/U-17-Youth-team-c40787, the Belgian winger graduated to the senior squad in 2008. He did not take too long to establish himself in the first
team, scoring his first goal in February 2010 which won them the match against Standard Liege.
In the 2010-2011 season De Bruyne went on to score five goals and provided 16 assists in 32 appearances in the League. His efforts helped his side claimed the third Belgian championship after which he went on to score his first hat-trick for Genk in a 5-4
win.
After being linked with the Blues since the summer transfer window, De Bruyne completed his move to Stamford Bridge on the deadline day of the transfer window for a reported fee of 7 million pounds.
