Question:

All you vegetarians out there....what candy should I avoid?

So I'm a recent convert to vegetarianism....

What ingredients specifically should I look out for? And specific candy would be helpful as well!

  1. vegetarians don't eat ANY meat but vegans don't eat ANY animal product bread,cheese,milk,etc so i think your talking about vegan on that hun


  2. Uhh depends on your motivation. If you are doing it for health reasons, you want to avoid all incredibly sugary products like that.

  3. nothing gummy. most likely they have gelatin in them.

  4. You should watch out for anything that has gelatin in it. I forget exactly what it has in it, but I know for sure that it does have groundup animal bones in it. It has other various gross stuff.

  5. Gealtin,, it contain pig hoof. So no gummy worms or skittles

  7. Ok, you should look out for foods that contain gelatin, glycerin(e),carmine, and rennet.

    Gelatin (cow hooves and fish bones):

    Starburts

    Skittles

    Marshmellows

    Gummy bears

    Nerds Rope

    Yogurt-may say kosher gelatin, but they mean the same thing

    and some Puddings

    It is basically found in any sticky candies and foods.

    Glycerin(e) (spelt with and "e" at the end occasionally. And it can either be animals or vege fat, so you'll have to call the manufacturer to find out.):

    Toothpaste (Colgate is good; NOT crest)

    some mouthwashes

    A lot of soaps

    Some lotions, Oh yea, gelatin can be in some lotions too.

    And a little bit of foods.

    Rennet:

    found in cheese. Sorry I don't know much about this but I do know that it is part of a cow's internal organ.

    Carmine (bugs...Eww, they use the juice for coloring)

    Nerds

    Red Hots

  8. do not eat mars products! such as skittles, twizzlers, etc. they do harmful animal testing and it is on the peta website if you want to check it out. so until they stop their cruel methods don't eat it! also it is not good for you...

  10. hmm.. i have heard that skittles have gelatin in them. if you dont eat gelatin, dont eat skittles or other gummy food.
