http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Allan-Anthony-Donald-c43680 says Sri Lanka will find it hard to bounce back – Cricket News Update
South Africa’s bowling coach Allan Donald has predicted that it will be hard for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 to bounce back in the ongoing three match Test series after losing the first game by an innings and 81 runs.
According to the former pacer, “What they have in the tank and what they bring to the party on a different surface will be different but if we're going to bowl like we are at the moment, and the wickets have helped, it's going to be tough for them to come
back into this series. We'll make sure of that.”
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Vernon-Philander-c2753 was devastating, picking up 10 wickets in the match (five in each innings).
The right-arm seamer has had a dream run since making his Test debut against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 in a recently concluded series. He has picked up a five-wicket haul in all his three games played for South Africa until now.
On the other hand, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DW-Steyn-c1409 has held onto his number one position in the ICC’s bowlers’ rankings firmly. His pace and swing are almost unplayable on lively pitches and the Sri Lankan batsmen looked helpless against him.
Steyn picked up six wickets in the match and could have easily taken a few more had he been a bit more fortunate.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/M-Morkel-c73528 was the only seamer to have struggled a bit, as he was bowling too short. However, the tall seamer has the potential to bounce back in the second Test at Durban, starting from Monday, December 26, 2011.
Donald was not worried about Morkel’s struggle in the first game and said that a bowler can have a bad time. He added that bowlers tend to get carried away after seeing a lively pitch.
The 45-year-old claimed, “Sometimes when you get on a responsive wicket, you hesitantly get into your work. Instead of just bowling into an area, you feel you need to get into the hot-zone more often.”
Sri Lanka have not won a single Test under the captaincy of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TM-Dilshan-c2691, who is struggling with his own batting form. The team needs to make a big improvement in order to challenge the Proteas in the remaining games of the series.
