West Ham United’s manager, Sam Allardyce has gone on to support Andy Carroll being called up to the national team, despite the striker suffering from some injury problems in recent weeks.
The forward returned to the West Ham squad earlier in the week, following a troublesome hamstring injury. On his return, he didn’t seem to display any recurring problems with his hamstring, and actively participated in the game, as he helped the side secure
a two goals to one win over their opponents.
Despite some claiming the call up to be a massive risk, the manager feels that playing for the national team is going to help the player’s confidence and in turn would improve his performances for the club side.
"I am glad he has been called up,” Allardyce told reporters.
"Going off to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 because he is short on match fitness would be a good thing for us and a good thing for him."
However, Allardyce did insist that he would talk to Roy Hodgson over just what position he was going to play the striker in and what Carroll’s role was going to be in the team.
He said: "I will liaise with Roy. Andy is in a position to play for him but I want them to just be careful about fatigue because fatigue is what brings injuries.”
"Andy's match fitness is a little behind where we would like it to be.”
"Helping him to perform for England and catch up on match fitness would be an ideal solution for the pair of us."
Following Carroll’s loan move to West Ham from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, he has slowly but surely started to improve on his performances.
With him failing to make a point at Liverpool, he seems to finally be getting back to the form that made him a house hold name due to his performances with Newcastle United.
Should he keep these displays up, not only would he guarantee a spot form himself in the England national squad, but he would most probably get called back to Liverpool, who at this point in time could really use a goal scoring forward.
