Allegory of the Cave????Early Greek literature concepts?

I have to write this paper for school on the allegory of the cave and the essay was " Focus on the the concepts of early greek literature and allegory in this story."

But I dont know what the concepts of early greek literature are.Please help! Thanks

Hello:

The first Greek stories were the Iliad and the Odyssey...after that were things like Oedipus the King, The Birds and so on...all in all It was about the Gods messing in the lives of the mortals.  Rewarding and punishing them and there was sometimes a semi God...a super human like Achilles.
