Massimiliano Allegri, head coach of the Diavolo outfit, went on to comment on the second half to their campaign with optimism, despite the poor first half they have had
Few would be able to visualise the state of affairs at the helm of AC Milan, and this is despite the fact that the club went on to part ways with more than 13 players over the course of the last summer transfer window. They have suffered immensely due to
the players that have departed and their transfer strategy (or rather, lack of it) has seen the strength of the squad being called into question; and those questions have not been answered by the Rossoneri outfit during the first half of their campaign.
It is increasingly difficult for Allegri and his men to hide behind the excuse of watching so many players leave the club; even their fans are not satisfied and this was shown by the fans when the season ticket holders’ turnout was the lowest under the ownership
of Silvio Berlusconi. Their lack of long term planning and the brunt of facing the financial wave that has swept Europe took its toll and the Diavolo outfit had no backup plan for the departing superstars.
With revenues decreasing and the attendance of matches at a low, it has to be stated that the club needs to produce quality displays in their upcoming matches. While commenting on the performances of the team and their plans for the second half of their
campaign, Allegri went on to state that the team has nothing to lose and must go for the maximum results that they have in store. While commenting on the results and their match against Siena, Allegri went on to comment:
“I’m sure that we’ll have a good second half of the season. We’re behind in the standings so we have nothing to lose. It will be fundamental that we beat Siena when the championship restarts and that we get to the half-way point of the League with 30 points
on the board.”
Milan are currently in the seventh place of the Serie A standings.
