Allegri delighted with win over Juve and remains tight-lipped over transfer targets: Serie A news
A.C Milan manager, Massimiliano Allegri, is delighted with the 2-1 win over Juventus in the Trofeo Luigi Berlusconi Trophy game on August 21, 2011.
Kevin-Prince Boateng’s thumping volley and Clarence Seedorf’s lovely free-kick goal sealed the win for the hosts, while, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mirko-Vucinic-c26024 scored the solitary goal for the Turin based side. The Rossoneri registered their 12th
win in the annual competition held between the two sides.
Allegri is delighted with his team’s performances and believes that they are ready to start the new campaign. The 2011/12 Serie A will commence on August 27th, 2011 and Allegri believes that his team has all the quality
to defend their crown.
The former Cagliari boss hailed his team’s performance in the first half and claimed that he had to switch players in the second half due to severe heat. The 44-year-old added that the players are in great shape and were not bogged
down by the sultry conditions.
Talking to the reporters Allegri said, “We were excellent in the first half. After the break, because of the heat, we changed a few roles. The boys did really well to bring home the victory. I wanted to see what condition they
were in and they seem in great shape. We’re happy.”
The manager revealed that if the club will dip in the transfer market it will only be for a top quality midfielder. He admitted that they are still in the hunt for a new midfield player to replace Andrea Pirlo, who joined Juventus
earlier this summer.
Allegri added that a player of Pirlo’s calibre will be replaced by someone with genuine quality and if they find the right player, only then they will make a move for him.
“If someone arrives then it will be an important player who is good enough for Milan. Andrea Pirlo left and nobody has come in to replace him. It would be good if someone arrived, but if that doesn’t happen then we will still be
fine.”
Recent reports have linked http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alberto-Aquilani-c4313, with a move to San Siro and it is believed that he will complete his signing within the next few days.
